Fellows in Bealeton, VA

Participants in PEC's 2008 Fellowship Program study a zoning map of Bealeton in Fauquier County while learning about land use planning from PEC staff members.

Former Fellows are saying:

"The [PEC] Fellowship offered me the opportunity to participate in a conservation based, environmentally focused six week program that looked at important environmental, political, and economic issues from a different angle. I came away from the Fellowship Program with a new point of view on many of these issues, and a new found appreciation of what I can do as an individual to affect the world as a whole." --Tommy Burk, George Mason University (Fellowship '07)

"I am very impressed by the depth and expertise of the presenters (especially the PEC staff) and also their ability to describe and teach the issues they deal with." --Adam Weber, Cornell University (Fellowship '08)

"I really enjoyed both the lecture and field trip components, because we got to see the land conservation concepts in practice." --Lila Warren, University of Virginia (Fellowship '08)

"By being exposed to so many aspects of PEC's work, I found that I could make an informed choice as to what excites me, and then pursue it professionally." --Chris Orvin, Northwestern University (Fellowship '08)
